I liked my booked and paid for myself room including as quiet and facilities including with a bright, sea view, the services eg at reception - professional, respectful including of a sole female visitor and helpful, I had registration problems and these helped, and I gave sight of my British passport for identification - and the snacks machine. I had also enquired about a takeaway breakfast around 9am on the departing Friday morning, although I see it starts later in the day and throughout. As my study break alone these helped as I didn't have any social, I had been in the room alone (my mum phoned at least daily thankfully) I didn't go out (previously in October, my third visit t o Folkstone in 2 years, I visited the traditional town centre for a hot takeaway snack and some gifts shopping and a phone chat with my mum on the Saturday afternoon alone. I arrived and departed via taxi alone directly the Tuesday evening (slightly delayed, though apologised) and Friday early afternoon t o and from Folkstone station.

We booked a Premier double room, and it was clean and comfortable worth the extra price per night as we normally book a normal double room, and the last few times have been left disappointed. Iron and ironing board in the room along with a mini fridge. We were lucky enough to have a balcony with views over the harbour. Location is really everything at The Burstin. It's central for transport links. The beach is literally 2 minutes away. We had breakfast on our checkout day. It was nicely cooked and hot, although for someone like myself that doesn't eat much, it's a bit pricey, but that's not really their fault. That said, there was a good selection of both continental, cereals, fruit and yoghurt and, of course, a full english. Overall, we were happy with our stay and have already booked the next one.

Janet

The room had a wonderful view of the harbour and distant white cliffs, and was comfortable and good value. It's a great location to set off from to walk around the town (there was an art event on), along the harbour arm or to the beach, and there was lots more to explore for a return visit to Folkestone and the fascinating surrounding towns and countryside. We swam in the sea more than once every day! We had a nice buffet meal in the very grand restaurant - the special for the day was great. There was lots of space to sit in the downstairs reception area, bars and ballroom, if you are looking for a social atmosphere.

Louise

The cost was fantastic, our room was spotless, we had a view overlooking the carpark if you looked down but straight out was a sea view. Reception staff are efficient and friendly, there was a coach trip before us but we were attended to in no time at all. We booked as we planned to watch a band in the Town centre on Friday night, However we went into the bar and stayed the night as the entertainment was great. Good fun laughter and plenty of dancing with my wife when the disco started. WELL DONE TEAM We also stayed in the hotel Saturday night as Friday was so good. Will DEFO BE BACK.

Room and staff hotel was fine the breakfast on the other hand way over priced I paid for breakfast on my 3 night stay only went once it was that bad I was told it was bad but I wanted to make my own decision I wished I would of listened. If you love a Fried egg covered in shell soggy sausages aluminous pink bacon watery scrambled egg all at room temperature not hot go for it . But the rest of my stay was perfect great staff very friendly lovely clean sea view room comfortable bed room had everything you can ask for.
