The staff are great and couldn't do more for you when you need them. The swimming pool is the hottest or warmest swimming pool in Britain. It is so beautifully maintained by two awesome pool attendees by the names of Simon and Jamie. They keep the level of the water and heat at the right level, with the right chlorine level from constant checks throughout your swim. The cleanlynest of the changing rooms and the entire swimming area is above emaculate, that you can feel comfortable to read or do your work on a devise by the pool side. You can converse with wonderful patrons of the pool, whilst doing your morning swim workout. Or Go to the gym for a good work out first , before relaxing in the sauna and pool afterwards. If ever you're in Folkestone, then this is the must go to place, for the summer or winter. Being in the pool or by the pool side, made me feel like I was in the barammas, every time I attended lol. Welcome to Jamaica man.....lol The price is amazingly small to pay to use the pool, whether you attended the hotel or not - They have a price for guests and price for locals / walk-ins. and the hotel is an amazing place to stay for the price of the night. If you are ever in Folkestone, you must stay here. Bless

The staff are all very helpful and kind. The evening meal buffet was like good basic home cooking. The little swimming pool and sauna were good if you went at the right time (quiet) . My room had a balcony with big patio doors that you can open wide . Unusual these days, it was so nice to be in bed with fresh sea air coming in. The room had a fridge which was useful for keeping drinks chilled. The evening cabaret was great with a talented singing/dancing group followed by this really cute little man singing 50’s rock n roll songs . He hopped about and wriggled his bottom . I fell in love with him instantly. Such a cool guy. Sigh . What else ? The location is brilliant, right on the sea from with views of the harbour and east Folkestone one side and in my room views to the west . The lifts worked well . My tip would be to arrive about 12 for an easy parking space and check in from 2pm maybe earlier . They let us go to our rooms early too .

I usually stay at other local "budget" hotels. At the Burstin my room had an electric fan in case I was too warm, an electric wall fire in case I was too cold, an ironing board and iron, and a hair dryer. I got a double bed and a handy light switch over the bed to turn off the main room light without having to get out of bed. There was a proper desk and chair and an easy chair too with a small coffee table handy beside the chair. The wardrobe was adequate for one, and had a good supply of nice quality wooden coat hangers. The carpet was clean and in good condition, and the room had good, lined curtains so that the room was nice and dark for sleeping. The bathroom was small but clean and tidy, with a bath and over the bath shower too.

The Burstin is an honest value-for-money hotel in a great location. I’ve been staying here for years when I travel to and from France to the UK via Dover or the tunnel. It was on its uppers seven years ago but now it’s on the up. Cheapish bar that’s open til late, decent food, music entertainment for those on short breaks… there’s no pretence. It’s honest about what it offers and staff definitely care more than they used to. It’s a big project for the newish corporate owners. But I wish them well and enjoyed my most recent stay.

The view from my room was incredible. I looked over the harbour during a storm. And sitting on the balcony with a cup of tea in the morning was exquisite. I enjoyed the carvery and it was good value for money. The staff were really friendly and I slept well. I also tried a new whisky! It was also great to have a bath! And lifts that went quickly up to the 8th floor. I really really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again. There was a festive chrustmas market and i enjoyed all of the decorations too.
